Which Foods Cause Eczema
Posted on 03. Sep, 2009 by Linda Robison.
Which Foods Cause Eczema? As a health advisor customers would often ask me this question. Many assume that certain foods cause eczema. However, the truth is ….foods don’t actually cause eczema, it’s more a connection between eczema and food allergies. Food allergies can bring on most common eczema symptoms, but the person already had eczema to begin with.
Eczema and Food Allergies
If you suffer from eczema you may see a connection between an increase in symptoms and eating certain foods. Foods like milk, wheat, seafood, nuts, eggs, soy, preservatives and common chemicals can cause eczema sufferers flare-ups and breakouts.
What makes it so difficult to pin point the offending food is that eczema skin symptoms may not appear until 24-48 hours after eating.
How To Treat Eczema
Which foods cause eczema flare-ups will vary from person to person, try the elimination diet listed below. These are the most common allergic types and more than likely to cause some sort of reaction or flare-up.
Then re-introduce that food into your diet and note your symptoms a few days afterward. Is there a connection? Then try this rotation again with another one of your favorite food until you see a pattern.
Over The Counter Eczema Treatment
Following a diet is hard, we all know that. And while you should try to reduce the offending allergic foods that cause eczema flare ups, you can also apply a topical gel and lotion that can help heal the skin and reduce burning and itching.
As a health advisor, I have researched hundreds of products and spoke with hundreds of eczema sufferers about their problems and results. I know how difficult it is finding that right product that really works. Thats why Im impressed with this all Natural Treatment for Eczema.
Are you currently using an eczema rash treatment? Is it working? Would you feel safe or comfortable applying this treatment a child’s skin? If you answered No, then you shouldn’t be using it either. Eczema skin is hypersensitive so your eczema treatments should especially formulated for ultra-sensitive skin.

Create Your Organic Baby Nursery
Posted on 02. Sep, 2009 by Ellen Valentine, CNC.
A new baby is a beautiful and indescribable blessing to any family. Months of anticipation lead up to an indescribable day for the family-in-waiting. Babies go from the warm, safe and very recognizable environment of mom’s womb to the outside world. Will the outside environment be as supportive as mom’s body?
Once at home your baby may be faced with an endless array of gifts from family, friends and coworkers that are not safe. These chemical ridden, eye candy-type of blankets and sleepers can affect your child for the rest of his or her life. That is unless you specify during pregnancy that your baby will be wrapped in only the safest and best 100% cotton organic materials possible. This will ensure safe and cozy crib bedding for your sweet baby. Why cotton and why organic?
Certain clothes, especially permanent press, wrinkle free and water resilient fabrics are dipped or sprayed in formaldehyde, which is also used as embalming fluid. Many fabrics on sofas, chairs and carpets are preserved with harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde. Formaldehyde has some alias names to look for: Formalin, Methanal, Methyl aldehyde, Methylene oxide, Morbicid acid and Oxymethylene.
This fabric preservation process on top of synthetic materials or even natural materials derived from plants sprayed with pesticides during the growing process are toxic. In any home, and especially next to the baby in the crib or anywhere in nursery decor, the materials will have a direct impact on the health and long term safety of a small child.
With constant contact, any person, and especially a small person will acquire sensitivities. These are simply put, allergies. Without constant mineralization and good enzymes, they will get progressively worse throughout life.
Sensitivities are what many call allergies. An allergic reaction can appear as benign as a slight skin rash, or unbearable dermatitis. Allergies can also come on unexpectedly as a life threatening asthma attack or anaphylactic shock. No need for scare tactics though; it is enough said that any of those aforementioned reactions are not what you want for a newborn infant or any person.
The best way to insure a healthy environment for the entire home, starting with baby is fine though, is to buy 100% cotton, organic and from a reputable company. There are many listed in the green directories, online and most search engines.
What to Do If You Suspect Allergies?
Minerals and enzymes, found naturally in raw or lightly cooked foods, are the beginning building blocks to life. Although proteins are considered body building blocks, the body cannot assimilate protein and properly utilize it effectively without minerals and enzymes.
The body is equipped with digestive juice factories. Some are located in the mouth, some in the stomach, some juices that digest travel from the liver and pancreas through the hepatopancreatic duct to supply digestive help in the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine.
When the body is depleted of the juices it needs to digest, even proteins which could be building blocks, become instead boulders the body simply carries along until it has the capacity to rid itself of what has become a liability. At this crucial point 75% – 80% of all foods ingested should be raw or lightly cooked.
So, in brief, besides seeing a good naturopath or nutritionist, parents can make sure that the entire family and especially a child with signs of allergies eats foods that are agreeable for their particular body type or blood type, and eat lightly steamed vegetables or fruits. During those times of outbreak, and I would add always, dairy should be avoided completely, along with any food that looks white or colorless, processed meats, canned or pre-packaged foods and sugars.
Creating Green Environments is going to be our best ally for the future. Begin small and add on something new each month. Eating whole and natural creates whole Human Beings. Begin throwing out dead foods and replace them one by one with live food. Make it a family quest and project. What fun! Create an organic nursery for your organic and healthy baby. This is a new beginning for your entire family, no matter whether you are expecting child #1 or #5.
Each baby is a new beginning for a family. Make it a fresh start for new and healthy resolutions for your sweet family. Look for whole and green everywhere. Live for the next generations to ensure they also have a lush green earth to enjoy.

What to Do If You Suspect Allergies?
First of all you must stop all contact with the irritant whether it is a food, a fabric, an environmental contaminant such as air, water, etc. That fact is most crucial when it comes to small children and older seniors. It is known in the healing community that a little goes a long way with both the old and the young, whether it is good or bad.
Over time, when a person does not eat mineral and enzyme rich foods, these internal juice factories become run-down with serious over-abuse. At this point the human body begins showing those signs in such things as allergies. When the body is depleted of the juices it needs to digest, even proteins which could be building blocks, become instead boulders the body simply carries along until it has the capacity to rid itself of what has become a liability. At this crucial point 75% – 80% of all foods ingested should be raw or lightly cooked.

Wheat Allergy – Its Symptoms And What You Can Do About It
Posted on 02. Sep, 2009 by Hernawati Catalino.
Most allergies that you may encounter are related to food. If you are encountering with some allergic reactions, there are several types of allergies that you may want to check out. Chronic health problems due to these reactions need immediate action from your side.
Aside from milk and peanuts, another type of food that can also cause certain allergic reactions is wheat. Many people suffer from wheat allergy and most of them are children. There are different symptoms that you may look into to find out if you or your children have this type of allergy. After that you might probably want to think of things that would help you alleviate the problem.
Many of us consume wheat in our everyday lives. Since wheat is known to be one of the healthy options in our diet plan, it is something that you would prefer eating than any other junk food. There are a lot of products available in the market nowadays which includes wheat as a major ingredient such as cereals.
Imagine eating wheat cereals everyday for breakfast without knowing that you are allergic to it? Food allergies such as wheat allergy may show several symptoms. They can range from feeling dizziness, frequent urination to gastrointestinal problems. You might also experience skin rashes occurring in several parts of the body, feeling nausea, and vomiting.
If you continuously indulge with products which contains wheat, knowing that you are allergic to it, would lead to further health problems. To make sure that you don’t aggravate any allergic reactions in your body, you must know what you are going to consume.
Since people who are allergic to wheat may associate some allergic reactions which are also related to albumin and gluten, frequent exposure to these substances, would then lead to the same allergic reactions such as eczema, rashes, and other skin problems. To alleviate your wheat allergy problems, you have to observe if you really are allergic to wheat or not.
If you notice any of the wheat allergy symptoms after being exposed for a certain period of time to wheat products, you should start seeing your doctor and get consultation for further diagnosis and treatment for your allergy. At the same time, you should know avoiding wheat will be your first step to prevent your allergic reactions from reoccurring.
Again, you need to get the right diagnosis to those reactions you are experiencing frequently to be able to stop having them. When it is proven that you are allergic to wheat, the next step to do is to change your diet plan if wheat is included in most of your meals. Try replacing your wheat with other nutrients. If you do this, you will be able to get rid of your health problem due to wheat allergy.
Hernawati Catalino shares with her readers about how to get rid of your aggravating skin allergies and also writes articles about allergies in general.

Subdue Your Acne the Natural Way With These 3 Complimentary Household Remedy Pointers
Posted on 01. Sep, 2009 by Frank Froggatt.
Teenagers across the world have a problem with acne. Teens and adults alike wage an almost constant warfare on the condition, which causes blackheads, puss-filled inflammation on the skin of the face, back, scalp, and just about anywhere else that is likely to get dirty and/or oily.
Regular skin care is essential to treating and preventing acne, but since the most common root cause is not necessarily oil or dirt, but genetics, acne can rear its head any time, anywhere, for any person. Despite the efforts of Hollywood to get rid of them and hide them, even movie stars with what appears to be perfect skin are oftentimes afflicted. Fortunately for us who aren’t movie stars, we don’t have to give an arm and a leg just to get our acne treated. You can keep your skin smooth and clear for many years to come simply by applying some simple home remedy acne treatments.
If you apply a raw papaya juice onto your pimples, it can help to shrink and eliminate them. When you include all of the fruit, including the seeds in the skin, you will get all of the benefits from papaya to help shrink the inflammation. When you apply it, you want to put it on evenly and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. This will help to condition and exfoliate your skin to smooth it out and clear up unsightly blemishes.
If you can get your hands on it, sandalwood powder is a powerful remedy for acne. Mix it up into a paste with either lime juice or high fat content milk. Apply the paste your face and let it stay on for a little bit and then wash it off. The milk is going to help the moisturize your skin and the Sandalwood going to help you to get rid of any of the extra oil that is built up on your skin. All that Sandalwood is really is just really dry crushed sawdust which works really well to remove and soak up oil.
Another good remedy for acne, although it is a bit slow working, is drinking water. Water is essential for your body’s needs and if it doesn’t get the amount that it has to have, it will divert the water that is in your body from the least important areas to more important ones. While your skin is certainly important, your heart, lungs, and stomach are a bit higher priority, so in the absence of enough water, it takes it from your skin until you replenish it. Avoid this by drinking plenty of clean water.
You could use medicinal remedies as well, but what cost are you going to pay? Some of them are even petroleum based, or use harsh solvents to dry out your skin. Only the really high quality high dollar medicinal skin care products are truly good for your skin, but in the cost of these things put them out of most people’s budgets. If you want to get rid of your acne naturally and responsibly, as well as inexpensively home remedies for acne are the way to go.

Control Your Acne the Homeopathic Way With These Three Complimentary Household Cure Tips
Taking care of your skin properly is an essential part of treating acne, but dirty skin isn’t the only reason for of the plague, as genetics plays a huge role in why many people end up with it. Because of this acne can strike anybody at any time anywhere for any reason. Despite the efforts of Hollywood to get rid of them and hide them, even movie stars with what appears to be perfect skin are oftentimes afflicted. Fortunately there are alternatives to spending a fortune on acne treatments. With some simple home remedies for acne, you can keep your face looking smooth, clear, and radiant for years to come.
One simple way to help shrink and eliminate pimples is to apply a raw papaya juice.By applying the whole fruit your skin including the pulp and seeds, you get the full effects and benefits that are contained in it.When you apply it, you want to put it on evenly and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. This will give your skin good conditioning and help to exfoliate and smooth out any blemishes.
Another truly powerful remedy for acne, if you can get your hands on it, is sandalwood powder. Sandalwood needs to be mixed up into a paste with either milk that has a high fat content or lime juice. Apply the paste your face and let it stay on for a little bit and then wash it off. The milk is going to help the moisturize your skin and the Sandalwood going to help you to get rid of any of the extra oil that is built up on your skin. Sandalwood powder is essentially just pulverized sawdust that has had all of the oil that used to be present in the wood removed, so it soaks up oil incredibly well.
Drinking water is another really good slow acting remedy for acne. Water is essential for your body’s needs and if it doesn’t get the amount that it has to have, it will divert the water that is in your body from the least important areas to more important ones. Not to say that your skin is not important, but things like your heart and lungs and stomach are given higher priority when there is an absence of water, and your body will take it from your skin to replenish those sources. This can be avoided by drinking a lot of water.
Medicinal remedies are fine, and they work, but at what cost? Some of them are even petroleum based, or use harsh solvents to dry out your skin. Only the nice, high priced ones are actually good for your skin, but the cost can be prohibitive for most people. If you want to get rid of your acne naturally and responsibly, as well as inexpensively home remedies for acne are the way to go.

HEPA Room Air Filters for Your Baby Room?
Posted on 01. Sep, 2009 by Chris Brennan.
Air filters are meant to help with air cleaning. They remove particles and pollutants from the air, most of which you cannot see with your bare eyes. It’s not like you want to go around with magnifying glasses or microscopes attached to your face anyway. Nor could you hold your breath each time there is a particle. You should learn to appreciate the air filters more.
Ever noticed how the air in an air conditioned room is cleaner than the air outside? That’s your air filters working right there. You don’t even want to think of what particles and pollutants get to your lungs every time you are outside or when you have to dwell in a space in which the air is not filtered. God must really watch over us in more ways than one.
Think of an air filter as some kind of mechanical sieve that works instead on the air. As air passes through, pollutants that are not safe for breathing are caught in the filter and held there. That sees to it that the air you breathe remains safe for breathing always, and that the filter needs changing now and again.
Even pollutants as little as 0.3 microns can be caught in an air filter. There are however few that can work that well. The best are your HEPA air filters. Perhaps you want to have those installed. Eh?
You don’t want to be the next in line one an ever growing list of respiratory disease sufferers, do you? No, you want to see that your air filters are top notch and in perfect working order. Anything less could be harmful.
The best type of air filters, the HEPA type, they need to be replaced frequently. You understand how the best player on the football field has to be given more time to rest. It’s what will keep the system top notch.
Depending on the cost of air filters you are using, you might want to keep an eye on how often you have them changed. At least, you should strive to use the utility out of them before you go ahead with it.
The home-wide solution for air filtration should not be the small type of air filter. Those are efficient in small rooms, but in larger spaces, they don’t do so well. You should get the bigger type for this because that is what they are made for. You will do well to remember that, so that you always use your air filters in the applications they are designed for.
You’d be surprised what particles are in the air around you. There is pollen, there is dust, there are bacteria, and a lot of other tiny little things that your eyes never get to see before you inhale them. Grab a used air filter and take a gander at it; you might never again want to breathe the free air around you, not without an air filter.
There are electrostatic air filters too. These types work in special air conditioning systems and in a special way. They work using charges that attract dirt rather than having it flow through and get stuck. Sounds interesting.

Baby Room Air Purifiers: What to Look For
Posted on 01. Sep, 2009 by Gail Blair.
Several in-duct systems are equipped with air filters to improve their performance. As a matter of fact, they really do not perform so well without the air cleansing devices. You might want to bear that in mind for all time.
The way your heating and cooling systems work in the home or at work, they also need the cleansing system to make things complete. If you like, you can call that filtration, hence the air filters that are needed to do the cleansing. The filters are installed in the system in a way that you can reach and replace them when the need arises.
Air conditioning is more than just the cooling and heating that most people suppose they are for; it is incredible the number of things we take for granted in our lives all the time. Air conditioning also includes air cleaning by air filters that are installed likewise inside of the conditioning units or systems. That cleaning part is done by air filters.
You don’t even want to know what dangers you live with everyday, but for an idea, how about I told you billions of particles are in the air you breathe, and that most of them were harmful? You certainly will come to appreciate air filters better then, won’t you?
The purpose of the air filter is to clean air. So, it does not matter that it’s for your car, or that it’s for your home. It does not matter either if you are at work or in some airplane. You need to always get the best type of air filter you can find because your health demands it. You have no clue how much the devices have been helping you so far.
If you plan to live long and live healthy, you will learn to pick out your air filters with care and caution. You will also learn to maintain them the best you can by cleaning them out from time to time, or having them replaced if that is what they call for. In case you don’t know it, these things keep you alive especially by removing the dirt in the air you breathe.
Using the best air filters can be a rather expensive choice, but you may not mind if you have the dough for it, or if your health means that much to you. However, when you are sure you will get value for you money, you should go for it because your health means more than your money should anyway. Just stop mulling for too long over it.
The application in which an air filter can be used is both its strength and its weakness. If you understand that little bit of information, you will know how to apply them wisely to each instance. Think you can manage that on your own?
Electrostatic or electronic cleaners are a whole class of air filters in their own respect. Because they work by electromagnetism, you don’t have to change them, ever. Just clean off the dust, and you can install them right back.
The replacement of the air filters in your air conditioning system is something you should do as often as you can. Perhaps once a month should suffice, but no less. These things clog up when they have been working a lot, and then they don’t work so well anymore. All of a sudden, instead of cleaning the air, they add dust to it, and then you can fall ill.

A Green Environment for Your New Baby
Posted on 01. Sep, 2009 by Ellen Valentine, CNC.
A new baby is a beautiful and awe-inspiring blessing to any family. From the warm, safe and very recognizable environment of moms womb, what environment, what cocoon will provide your baby safety from here on out?
In any home, and especially next to the baby in the crib or anywhere in nursery decor, the materials will have a direct impact on the health and long term safety of a small child. Remember that when formaldehyde or other fabric-preservatives are in conjunction with synthetic materials, or even on top of so-called natural materials derived from plants that are pesticide sprayed, you have the ingredients for a toxic soup.
Certain sensitivities are actually meant to be a warning signal that something is not right, to look at what is happening and make changes for the better. Constant contact with certain materials can spark allergies or sensitivities in the very young or old. An allergic reaction can appear as benign as a slight skin rash, or unbearable dermatitis. Allergies can also come on unexpectedly as a life threatening asthma attack or anaphylactic shock. Unexplained and unsuspected symptoms are not how you want your infant to start life.

Parents have the sacred responsibility to ensure that the entire family, and especially the child indicating danger signs, eats foods that are agreeable for their particular body type or blood type, and eat lightly steamed vegetables or fruits. In addition, having a good naturopath or nutritional counselor will create the support the parent needs to do the right thing for children who struggle with health.
Look for whole and green everywhere. Expect the best and insist upon it. To Your Best Health, Ellen Valentine, CNC
