Laser Tag has advanced beyond the ‘neon light, disco music’ phase. I can take stock internals from a laser tag gun and place them inside virtually any airsoft gun ’shell’. The result? A replica gun that fires infrared at ranges from 250 feet to over 1000 ft based on lens assembly. Accuracy? as accurate as a beam of light. FPS? when you fire infrared it travels at approx the speed of light., wth does FPS matter. I find that milsim laser tag allows snipers to actually play sniper roles…with the range and accuracy and range to match. Even a stock Phoenix LTX tagger will hit at 100 yards, easily. The cost? $50.00 for two and no ammo to buy, ever. Two guns, and some AA batteries and even the most basic LTX will outperform airosft or paintabll with regard to accuracy, range and cost. Sure, there ar eno projectiles, but that just means I can play deep in the woods of any of my county parks without violating any ‘firearm’ laws. Do I miss the exposure to pain from a paintball? yes. But in my opinion, the upside to custom infrared combat far outweighs airsoft or paintball.
