Learning From Models’ Dieting Tips

Picking up models’ dieting tips is an easy way to keep up with the latest fitness news and trends. Movie stars and models know all the tricks for staying in shape because they have the money to spend on personal trainers, health clubs, and any diet book they could possibly want. If you don’t have that much cash, the next best thing is listen to the advice of those who do.

If you read fashion magazines, you will find quite a few interviews with famous models like Heidi Klum and Gisele Bundschen. There are many questions and answers on the topic of dieting, and you can easily pick up some gems.

Here are some of the tips that come up again and again:

1. Drink plenty of water

Your body needs plenty of water in order to metabolize fat efficiently. If you’re active – and you should be if you’re trying to lose weight – drink at least 36 ounces (about four and a half glasses) of water a day.

2. Cut back on alcohol

When models attend those social functions, they always try to avoid alcohol as much as they can. This is because alcohol will counterfeit your body’s ability to burn fat. In addition, it sucks water, which defeat the purpose of the first tip.

3. Increase your muscle mass

The benefits of having more muscle mass is that muscles burn calories. To build muscles, you need to enhance strength training such as doing more lifting.

4. Get more “diet friendly” nutrients

Both complex B vitamins and calcium can help boost metabolism, but calcium is only suitable for taking in the evening as it can make you sleepy. Omega-3 fatty acids offer help in appetite control, and you can source it from nuts and ocean fish. Don’t leave out protein in your meals, as it works great for building muscles and keep you from getting hungry too soon.

5. Let yourself cheat

To get into great shape is a beautiful thing, but dieting is no fun. Surely, you need to form a permanent healthy life style if you do not want to get back the pounds you have lost. However, it does not hurt to give yourself a short break once in a while with pizza, chocolate, or ice cream… whatever your favorite is. Just don’t indulge yourself too much and it will not hurt your overall success.

If you follow a diet plan that fills your day with eating the right foods (not all salads and fruit either!) then you will never feel hungry enough to take snack from time to time.
